WHY DO I NEED TWO DEVICES TO PLAY?
Two devices are NOT required to play but would make the process easier (and more fun) for you.
Our Twitch stream will feature your host while the actual game will be played at MyQuiz.org. If you have two devices (two phones, two computers or one of each) it will save you going back and forth from Twitch to MyQuiz after every round.
WHAT IF MY INTERNET CONNECTION GETS INTERRUPTED?
As the quiz is happening simultaneously for all players there's not much we can do if your wi-fi goes out or your signal is interrupted. However, you can rejoin the quiz at any point and you'll be current with everyone (although you may miss one or multiple questions depending on how long your were away).
WHAT DO I DO ONCE I RECEIVE THE CODE TO JOIN THE QUIZ?
Go to MyQuiz.org and type in the six digit code we emailed you to join the quiz. You will then be redirected to a waiting screen with a countdown timer. Simply wait for the quiz to start.
DO I NEED TO TUNE INTO TWITCH?
Technically, NO. But it adds the human element associated with pub trivia. We also run polls in the FB Live stream to determined topics at upcoming quizzes.
THE COUNTDOWN HAS GONE TO ZERO BUT THE GAME HASN’T STARTED YET?
Don’t worry. The game is started manually by our Quizmaster, so if the clock goes to zero and the game doesn’t start immediately it’s the same for all players. Sometimes a delay in the live stream will mean the quiz may start late, but usually only a minute or two at the most.
DOES THE HOST READ THE QUESTIONS?
Nope. Due to the 10-15 second delay, the host will not read the questions, as there’s only 25 seconds to answer. Questions will appear on your screen (at the MyQuiz website).
IS THERE A PRIZE FOR THE WINNERS?
Usually the top 5 finishers get a form of cash prize. If you’re not too hot at trivia though there’s always a prize for the “best team name”, specialty theme prizes, and a raffle too!
I SIGNED UP AND PAID MY ENTRY FEE BUT DIDN'T RECEIVE MY CODE YET?
The code to enter will be sent about an hour before the first question. If you don't have it by 7:15pm though please CHECK YOUR SPAM FILTERS as it will likely be there. Still don't have it? Please inbox us on Facebook and our admin will get you the info you need. Please provide the email so we can double-check that you paid.
WHY IS THIS $5 TO PLAY?
We provide $200-$500 in cash prizes with every virtual quiz we do. We’re able to do that because people pay to play.
Plus we are a family-run business, so this helps us live! The virtual quiz was born in the midst of COVID-19 in 2020 when all our live bar events got shut down.
CAN WE PLAY AS A TEAM?
Absolutely! Although most people are locked down at home, so you’ll most likely only have the people in your household to play with.
Although we know some people use Skype or FaceTime to try to team up (which is fine!)
CAN I CHANGE MY TEAM NAME WITH EACH QUIZ?
Yes! Just edit your “nickname” (team name) at your MyQuiz account.
WHEN WILL THE FULL LEADERBOARD BE POSTED?
The day after the live quiz, we will publish a full list of results (in many cases over 200 teams) on our Facebook page, highlighting our favorite team names.
THIS SOUNDS AWESOME. HOW DO I PLAY?
You can play on any smart phone, tablet, or computer. Each event is comprised of 60 killer multiple choice questions, is accompanied by a live host, and takes around an hour to play. Questions are on a 20-second timer to eliminate any potential cheating.
CAN WE PLAY AS A TEAM?
Of course! One of the best things about trivia is competing with your crew. You can link up with them via Zoom, Google Hangouts, landline, or your preferred mode of communication. Each person will sign up and answer individually.
IF I WIN, DO I GET A PONY?
Maybe. We give out cold hard cash to the top teams depending on the number of players. You can also take home some sweet prizes for the best team name or by winning our raffle.
